Before reading this article, look around your house. Make a list of items lying around the house and collecting dust. Things you just noticed can be called junk, in simple words; these are things that you desperately want to get rid of. Now you have the investment ready for making some quick money.

Here is the business plan. Ask your friends and neighbors whether they are interested in getting rid of their unused junk. Now you form a community. Bring all the collected junk items together. Each one of you can decide on how much to charge for your junk. Tag it with labels found at your local store. You can even put a masking tape for labeling. You must not forget to put your initials behind the cost. If you are having a multi sale with friends you can keep what you sell separate from your friends.

How much you should charge for each item is important. Always keep it in your mind that you are selling something that should otherwise been thrown away. The ideal price is always the lowest. Never let down someone who wants to buy your junks, even if they offer less money than that you demand. At least, you are not giving it for free.

Now you need to publicize your sale. For that you could share the cost of placing a media advertisement with your friends. The advertisement should include dates, address, and the time of sale event. The ideal location for your sale can be a large hall, preferably in the heart of your town. You could rent it for a week or so. Summer is the best time for selling your junks.

This whole process of selling junk items is called a Garage Sale or Yard Sale. It is not easy as it seems to be. It can be fun but it is a lot of work also. Don't expect to make a huge sum of money through garage sale. You will be paid for your effort in cleaning your own home. That will be the biggest reward. The motto behind garage sale is, 'Out with the old and in with the new'.

For sure, it is the best and economical way of getting rid of unused junk. Give yourself a try. It won't cost anything. Benefits are many. You could have your junk avoided. You can have a bit of fun doing the sale. Most importantly you could reward yourself with some extra cash. Having done all the works make sure you enlist the help of your friends so you can share the cost.

Always remember the old saying while going on for garage sale, "One mans junk is another man treasure."
