You have a password for almost everything, debit cards, alarm system, even your checking account has a password. So why not use one on your computer as well? Setting a password for your computer is never a bad idea. In fact, this will help keep your documents safe and your personal information even safer.

With new technology and people not having anything else to do, your important personal information may not be so safe anymore. Computer hackers are always finding new ways to get into your information. This information may include your address, bank information, account history, and other important documents they don’t need to see.

When setting a password for your computer and your documents you should always use something that will be easy for you to remember yet difficult for someone else to figure out. Each password should have a minimum of eight characters, and should include numbers and symbols. For instance, if you were to use the password princess you should replace letters with numbers or symbols that are similar to that letter as in pr1nc355. Notice the how the letter “I” was replaced with the number 1, the “E” with the number 3, and the letter “S” with the number 5. This would be a difficult one to crack.

Remember to keep your passwords in a safe place and never under any circumstances, give them to anyone over the phone, in a text message, or email. This will help you keep your information out of the hands of unknown people. Also, you should change your password every few months, so as to keep it safe.

Keep your computer safe from hackers. Since hackers can see everything that is on your computer, they are able to add things to your computer, including viruses which could be deadly to your computer. To keep your personal information safe and out of reach of those who don’t need it, use a password. Trust me you won’t regret it.
