Use of the internet is more common today than it was ten years ago. Every one who owns a computer or uses one at work has used the internet as some point in time. Public schools even have computers linked to the internet for students to use when doing research.
Internet Explorer, also known as IE for short, is as commonly used as the telephone. So what are you to do when IE freezes? There are many reasons why your IE freezes including your computer, IE updates, and viruses. Here is the breakdown of these reasons and what to do to fix the problem.
The computer you are using could be the number one problem when it comes to an Internet freeze. The ability to load IE depends on the processing speed of your computer. If you have more than one IE windows open at a time the processing speed decreases, making your computer and IE run slower than usual. Also, if you upgrade your RAM you will have more space to use when running IE, thus helping with the speed of your computer.
Upgrading your IE and other software will help with load times. Like other computer software you must keep it up to date, too will help with any problems you have had in the past with your IE freezing. You may want to automate the software updates to make sure you get the necessary upgrades to keep your computer and IE running. When IE has a new version available you may want to download it, but be sure to scan for any bugs and viruses when you get the full version installed on your computer.
The last possible culprit to IE freezes, or computer freezes in general is a virus attack. Anytime you open and e-mail from an unknown sender, you are taking a risk of getting a virus. These pesky viruses can cause a big headache and there is no need for it when you can prevent it. What you need to do is install and anti-virus and an anti-spyware program, this will reduce the risk of getting a virus.
Taking the necessary precautions and making sure your computer and your Internet Explorer are up to date will help tremendously. Keep your eyes peeled for any bugs and e-mails from unknown senders and you will be on your way to a happy and healthy Internet Explorer and computer.
