Parenting is one of the toughest non paid jobs ever- this was what one of my friends said, when asked how his little boy was. Is it the same everywhere? I should say yes. The problems faced by the parents are same in every part of the globe. One of the major problem you face as a parent is tantrum. Children may be naïve, but not always. They can be big problem makers. Wherever you travel, whomever you talk with, they will all have some complaint or the other with their children.
We have got plenty of parenting guides and books written after so much research. If you go through them, you could find some solution to tame the problematic child. First you have to find out what problem your child is having. Some parents never pay attention to this very important factor. Many parenting experts are of the opinion that most of the time it is not the child, but the parent is the one who has to be blamed. For instance, if you are having a two year old baby who still needs your lap for a nap, whom has to be blamed- the baby or your self?
To tackle the sleeping problems of your child, you should work with it when the baby is young. You should always remember, ‘Habits grow with children’. There is no use in keeping the child crying for hours to have you hold it. Help them sleep by themselves when they are young. Teach them the difference between day time and night. So that they will slowly understand that night is the time to sleep and day to play. When the child is in the womb of his mother, day and night are the same. Environment does not change. It is not the case when they are born to the outer world. To make them aware of this change you can take them to bright day light. When they are put to bed in the night make sure that lights are turned off.
Teaching habits has to done when the child is six months old. Put them into bed early, and wake them early too. That will provide the child with ample amount of sleep and a healthier, energetic day time. You can also give them a short nap in the evenings. Some of us have the habit of using the Saturday night to play with the baby, as there is no work on Sunday. But it is not good for the child, experts say.
Does your child still need you in the bathroom to clean him? Then it is high time to teach him how to clean himself. Actually, potty training is easy and fun filled. It may consume a little time to teach him to clean himself. But you have to be calm and relaxed when trying to teach your child potty cleaning. By the time he is in his preschool it will become a routine and you need not have to be worried.
A toddler can hardly control his emotions. When they get frustrated or exasperated he will create tantrums. You need to find out the real reason for your child’s behavior. Sometimes it may be because of hunger, inadequate sleep, or even frustration. You could work with them and solve their problems if you put a little mind on it.
