You get regular payment of interest throughout, till the time of CD’s maturity. This could be purchased from your bank and the bank usually gets it insures against loss. On its maturity, the CDs earn you the interest accumulated along with the sum originally invested.

Any of these are suitable to be tried first. You stand to earn quite a sum while you get familiarized with other investment possibilities.
