During the initial days of your shifting, you feel as you are still packing the goods shifting or unpacking which makes a mess. It is not practical to organize the house in one day. Obviously it will take more time. Unpack it in order of your requirements. Place the boxes near your room where it has to be kept. It all depends on the house and how conveniently you can do it.

Don’t unpack everything in one day. If you have moved to a new place, you need some time to know the place and the basic necessities available around. You may have to go out and get some basic necessities until you unpack your kitchen. First unpack your kitchen and then the living room. You have to work little hard in your home for setting everything.

In normal case, unpacking requires nearly six to twelve weeks. It depends on the size of your family and the belongings you have. Sometimes you have to store permanently some items in the garage or basement / attic etc. because of insufficient space for them.

Many of the utilities should be connected. But make sure that your Internet, Telephone, Cable connections etc. will take weeks to get connected. Use this time to unpack your other things and organize in its place. It will take a month or two for you to come back to your normal life. If your utilities are reconnected, you will have only less time to unpack other things. When you go out for work, ensure the routes are familiar to you. Give some extra time to know the routes of your journey.
